Fourlane creates a customized, GAAP-friendly process for grants and profits in QuickBooks for Modoc Nation
Overview
Modoc Nation, a federally recognized Native American tribe, left its original accounting system in the Oklahoma dust. Having outgrown the old program’s capabilities, Modoc Nation needed a solution that enabled its staff to better manage grants and profits – and then report up to its Council. Plus, they needed the training and ongoing support to sustain a new accounting program.
Solution
Fourlane collaborated with the Modoc Nation staff to design a QuickBooks Online solution for tracking grants, and reviewing profits and expenses.
Fourlane implemented a solution that was compatible with audit requirements. It allowed the staff to begin creating a policy and procedure framework that was consistent with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the tribe’s own needs.
Fourlane followed through to make sure the Modoc Nation’s staff understood how to navigate their new QuickBooks accounting system, while also providing them ongoing support.
Results
The Modoc Nation staff is now confident in maintaining financial records with consistency and accuracy. And they’ve been able to meet their grant budget and auditing goals. With their new processes and training, the finance team is now able to create reports that tribe leadership can integrate into their long-term financial planning.
