This month we speak to Kathryn Butts, one of our Software Consultants. From Austin, Texas, Kathryn originally studied and majored in music. She found herself getting into the accounting field and knows how our customers feel when learning complicated software. She’s acquired 15+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience since then and is a valuable asset to our Fourlane team. Her ability to break down complicated concepts and technical jargon into easy-to-understand and relatable topics makes the experience easy. She’s worked with a wide range of industries, so her breadth of knowledge helps her clients tremendously.
What you like about working for Fourlane:
I love the concept we have of continuous learning. It’s my favorite of the core values because I’ve always made it one of my personal goals to learn something new every day. Since I’ve started, I can definitely say I’ve achieved that goal 10x each day. As a company, we are also great about sharing information and have so many opportunities to learn from each other. Since Fourlane is a 100% remote company, I have seen such an improvement in my quality of life since I’ve been able to work from home. I am getting more done throughout the day both at work and at home, and I certainly haven’t missed my commute in Austin traffic for one single moment.
What would you want people to know about us?
We are a small, but growing, group of dedicated professionals. We pride ourselves on being able to offer solutions, think outside the box, and are always striving to give each client the best possible experience. We have a core value to connect with our clients, each other, and our company, and we really do strive every day to meet that goal.
What motivates you to come to work every day?
I love to have the “A-Ha” or lightbulb moments when on training and design calls. I love the opportunity to open someone’s eyes to something they didn’t know was possible within the software, or to be able to make their job just a little bit easier by redesigning the way something has been done for years to make it more streamlined. I also enjoy the relationship I have with my team, and we make each other laugh every morning at our team meeting. It’s a fabulous way to start the day and sets the tone for a great workday ahead.
